Sadie’s mother and I were splitting up at this time in our lives. I was moving from NY to Louisville KY. The night before I left, I heated up a blanket in the dryer and wrapped it around us while we watched the day light turn into stars. I knew it would be the last time I'd see her for awhile and I was hanging onto the last moments with her before I departed. Later that evening after I had left, I drove to a lake and wrote this poem for her. A few years later I turned it into a spoken word music track. Now Sadie is 20 years old. Her and my son (Shannan) are the 2 most important people in my life. This poem is dedicated to my love for her.
