I was honored to showcase and curate my one man show "Burn The Ships" at Oakstop Art Gallery in Oakland CA. This solo exhibition hung from May 1st through July 1st 2014 at Oakstop Gallery. This specific portfolio consisted of 20 large scale abstract paintings and found object sculptures. The work was revolved around the themes of sobriety, fatherhood, and vulnerability. This was the first body of work I made after getting sober. I'd used dozens of substances while creating art over the 19 years previous to this portfolio. It was the most important, difficult, and beautiful experience of my life. I had to learn how to move a brush again without the help of a pill, drink, line, or needle. This body of work was the most honest and revealing out of all the work I'd ever made. I was honored to have shown it at Oakstop Gallery. I was given the freedom to hang and light my work the way I wanted. The show was an incredible success and one of the proudest moments of my life.
