 10FT X 5FT Painting on Canvas-Oil & Aryclic

DESCRIPTION: I created this abstract painting because I wanted to convey the importance and feeling of travel. I have traveled my entire life. I'm originally from Boston MA, and then proceeded to move to: New Hampshire, Connecticut, Virginia and D.C., the Hamptons in Long Island, The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, New Jersey, Los Angeles, Syracuse NY, Louisville KY, Lowell MA, and currently residing in Oakland/San Francisco CA. I moved around frequently over the course of my life because I craved to see and learn as much about different cultures and landscapes as I possibly could. I love adventure! I love risk! I live to demolish fear when it raises its ugly head. I’ve also recognized that the people who I've met along my journey who have moved around quite a bit, are the ones I find to be most non-judgmental. The more we experience, the more we becommed opened.

The more we experience, the more empathy has a chance to grow in us. The movement in this painting represents the movements that we make over life. I tried to create a sort of cartography look to this painting. I painted what appears to be oceans, landmasses, and random directions. I painted the yellow to represent the excitement and happiness that is allowed to take place in our lives when we explore. I dedicate this painting to all the people in the world who crave adventure and learning to the extent that I do.
