DESCRIPTION: I wanted to create a painting that conveyed the feeling that surrounded my early childhood imagination. My desire was to paint something whimsical and easy on the eyes. I wanted it to have flow with elementary gestures accompanied by shapes and designs that were playful and easily followed. I actually allowed my 3rd grade students from my after school art’s program to color on the panels.I painted around their drawings and throughout their pictures. I believed that literal youth added to the piece would emulate the essence like a method actor would while playing a role on the big screen. Innocence and bright colors go hand in hand. I look forward to these moments in my Art when I am able to reach into those pockets of time, when all in my world was gentle and kind.
